Help Florida Insurance company canceling because i need a new roof

Roofs and Insurance Florida.
Over the last few years we have been getting increasing calls from frantic homeowners calling because their insurance company is going to cancel or drop them because they have a older roof.

Insurance companies are in the risk business and on residential homes a old or poorly maintained roof has a high risk of the homeowner making a claim for damage caused by windstorms and other named storms in Florida. If you have a old or badly maintained roof and a tropical type wind driven storm comes through the area substantial damage can occur to the inside contents and structure of your home. Drywall , insulation, paint, furniture carpets are just some of the items that can add up to  a large wind storm insurance claim.

Therefore the insurance companies are taking a lower risk with residential roofs in Florida.

Unless you can prove that the roof has been replaced in the last six or seven years the insurance company will ask for a certified Roofing Contractor inspection to give a opinion on your roof. This comprehensive inspection of the roof will give you a idea of the condition of the roof and any potential problems that might arise or any minor roof repairs that need to be done. About 40 % of the Orlando roofs we inspect dont have anything wrong with the roof and we can certify that the roof is in good condition. Around about another 40 % of the roofs we look at just need some minor repairs that we can usually perform on site to certify that the roof is leak free.

A Experienced knowledgeable local Orlando Roofing contractor is the best course of action to find someone to give you a honest opinion on your roofing needs now or in the future.

I am glad to hear that the governor is making laws more strict on roofing. It can be really unsafe when a roof isn't built right! Hopefully we can find some good roofers that will build us a roof that is up to code.see more ...
